FICRA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
June 11, 2015
Board Attendees: Uwe Krohn, Jim Braden, Tony Moore, Hal Goodell, Gina Olson, Howard Stapleton and Bob Bowser.
Uwe opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance.
Minutes from the May 15, 2015 meeting approved.
President’s Report: Uwe Krohn would like to see a bicycling road race event. Tony offers that the Chapel has attempted this in the past, but dropped it due to cost and logistics. The Kick Ball Friday nights is something he would like to see restarted this summer again. Rennie Walker is the expert. Lisa suggested possibly a Fox Island Olympics. Terry Mace and Ann Woods organize the events at the Fair and may be able to do something like this.

Plant Sale went well after expenses generated a net of $1865 for FICRA ($5,595.00 divided between the 3 organizations fundraising: Sand N Soil, FICRA and the Garden Club).
Committee Reports:
Social Activities: Jean Peterson excused. No report.
Membership Committee: Bob Bowser. Goal of 400 members. Currently 384. A “welcome packet” is supposed to be sent to the new residents on FI. Bob to contact Post Master to discuss more ways to reach out to new residents. There are 104 past members that have been sent emails to renew. A listing of all the owners of property on FI is available on the internet.
Publicity: Jim Braden. Lisa Stapleton has done a great job keeping newsletters going. The July News letter will be out later than the 1st. New submissions are needed for the Flash by July 3rd.
The July newsletter to include announcement about Ficra Fair. Lisa will be on vacation, and he paper newletter will need to have all the info by July 13th. Hal will get the copies made and have a “folding party” at the NCC. Judy Wilson and George Weis working together to send a letter to those who advertised in the Directory last year to renew.

A Ficra Annual Calendar of Events
Directory has been continuing to be formulated. The updates are coming in and Jim is updating and working with George Weis.
FICRA FAIR. Hal Goodell. The kick off meeting was well attended and he feels they are very well organized for this year based on last year. BBQ Zees has been invited. Food Vendors to be consolidated to reduce congestion. Drew from Zogs may help with Beer Garden sponsor, or another application will be made to Red Hook. Vendor booths are being sent out.
Gina reports shirts are in process.
