There are two linked nonprofit organizations that comprise Fox Island’s Community Association. The Fox Island Community and Recreation Association (FICRA) was formed in 1970 to support the community and provide social and recreational activities for all Island residents. The FICRA Building Trust was formed in 1996 to preserve and maintain the historic schoolhouse (now the Nichols Community Center) and other Trust properties on Fox Island, support educational activities and programs, and support the activities of local nonprofit organizations.
