| | Greetings! It’s Fair Time on Fox Island! The Annual FICRA Fair is August  11th at the Nichols Community Center. This fabulous yearly event brings Islanders from all ages together. FICRA is very excited to have 2 fantastic bands this year, an outstanding raffle room, tons of kids games and all the Fair food you know and love. And don’t forget to bring your flowers for the Floral Show! Thank you so very much to the volunteers who are working hard to make this event happen. If you would like to Spare an Hour for the Fair, we have some fun jobs that we would love some help with. Contact us at info@FICRA.org and we’ll find the perfect spot for you! VOLUNTEER AT THE FAIR! Meet New People, Donate Your Time & Talents and Give Back to Your Community 
Do you have an hour to spare for the Fair? FICRA is looking for some folks to help with set-up, the day of the event, and help with clean up after the Fair. We LOVE our fun and free community events and they all happen because of dedicated volunteers. We’d love to have you join us! Brownies Take over the Old Schoolhouse!  Brownie Troop 40999 held an overnight at Fox Island’s Nichols Community Center this June. Fifteen girls, second and third graders, and three adult leaders camped in the Center. On Sunday they cooked breakfast for their fathers for Father’s Day – pancakes and pigs-in-a-blanket cooked outside over an open fire! 
Some of the girls were bridged to Juniors at a ceremony at FICRA’s Nature Center.
This Troop and Troop 41094 also helped stuff a gazillion eggs for FICRA’s Spring Easter Egg Hunt as a thank-you for FICRA allowing them the use of the NCC.

FICRA Welcomes Kids to Join in the Fun! Carnival Booth Ideas Kids! Choose a game, find a partner to help run your booth and practice your game in your backyard. Think about inexpensive prizes ahead of time and remember to price your game so that you can donate 5% of your profits back to our community center and still have some funds left over to spend at the fair or to put in your piggy bank. Here are some carnival game ideas:

2ND ANNUAL RAFFLE ROOM IS BACK! We are accepting donations for this popular fair event! The Raffle Room is back! We are accepting donations for this popular fair event! 2011 fair goers really enjoyed putting their raffle tickets into the paper bag on a specific item. The Raffle will take place at the end of the fair. Winners may pick up raffle items after the raffle on fair day or at a scheduled time the following day. FICRA is looking for donations of raffle items to appeal to all age s; especially for kids and teens. Last year, the most tickets were sold for the framed art by a local artist, a large potted bamboo plant, and a painted chair. Vendors, this is a great way to advertise your items! Suggested raffle items are: fishing gear, sports equipment, tools, pet items, tickets to a local event, camping gear, plants, and any items to do with summer time fun. Click here for DONOR FORMS! |

Crime Watch 
In Case of An Emergency, Call 911 To Report a Crime on the Island, call Crime Watch at 549-7744 or Click HERE to submit a Crime Incident Alert Summertime is here and with it residents have been opening doors and windows to let in the fresh air. Just remember to shut and lock them when you leave. There have been an increase of burglaries on the Island and some have gained access to homes through open doors and windows. Crime Watch is a very important part of the FICRA organization and helps to keep Fox Island the great safe place we love. We strive to keep Islanders updated on events of concern to residents. At this time please know that all Crime Watch alerts must be sent to the above link or they are not published online. Currently FICRA does not list events that are posted in the newspaper or through police reports. FICRA is working to include this information in the future. Additional information about crime in and around Fox Island is always discussed at the monthly meetings. Stan Westin does a great job in working closely with the Gig Harbor Police Department and Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. A summary of his report is available in the meeting minutes on our Blog at FICRA.org: Board Meeting Minutes Stan has initiated a process to improve communications between all parties and the reporting system so FICRA will have all current and reportable information.
