INTRO TO UKE, PART 1
In this 4-session class, you’ll learn the core fundamentals needed to be get jump-started on the ukulele. After being shown how to properly hold the uke, a pick, and position your arms and hands, some basic chords, you’ll strum through some familiar, beginner-friendly songs.
All you’ll need to bring is a soprano, concert, or tenor ukulele (no baritone ukes, please, as they’re tuned quite differently). All instructional materials will be provided.
Note: If you don’t have a uke and need help finding one at a reasonable price, you can contact the instructor for suggestions (but do so at least 2 weeks before the first class).

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Locally-based and critically-acclaimed indie ukulele recording artist, Jeff Saxon, is currently teaching a series of beginner-friendly uke classes at various Parks and Recreation departments. He’s previously taught uke, guitar, and songwriting classes at a number of colleges and music schools in WA, CA, and NJ. He also conducts uke workshops at libraries and is a highly-rated private uke instructor. Jeff’s all-original, multi-genre 2018 album, The Ukulele Project, was praised in UKE, Great Britain’s pre-eminent ukulele magazine as well as by Uke Planet, who described the songs and recording as “simply magnificent.”
