Caspar a huge hit at the Nichols Center

Friday, October 7th, FICRA hosted a playground fundraiser with the amazing Chris Ballew (aka Caspar Babypants) at the Old Schoolhouse. This Sold-Out event was a huge success, thanks Chris’ awesome songs and a packed house of what felt like hundreds of little rockin’ and rollin’ kids. We couldn’t have asked for more. It was so great to see kids of all ages running around the schoolhouse, dancing, and having an unfettered, awesome time. We also saw parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, all dancing to the music. Caspar’s energy was infectious and pretty soon everyone there was clapping, singing along and caught up in the fun. We owe Mr. Babypants a huge thank you for coming all the way down to our little Island and we hope he will join us again. I know every Island kid I saw there wanted to know when he was coming back!

The best part is that we raised a lot of money for the Nichols Center Playground. This money will go towards upkeep of the grounds, new play chips, maintaining the equipment, and hopefully, some new toys in the future. Thank you to everyone who came and to all those who donated money, bought t-shirts and snacks and most of all, had fun!

Here are some of the comments we received about the show:

“My little one was still rocking in her jammies after we got home. :)”

“I don’t know who was smiling more the kids and babies (so many cute babies) or the parents/grandparents.”

“We loved this event! Kellen is still singing the songs….”

“Jack and Luke cannot stop talking about this even. Thank you FICRA for putting this together!”

“Charlie will not let me listen to anything but his new CD in the car. Even super cool big sis said she had a blast.”

“Loved, loved, loved the show! Thanks for putting it on!”

“Loved watching all the little ones dance around… “Grandma Take Me Home”-there was a little mosh pit going on : )”

“It was a big hit with our 4 & 6 year old “critics”. And they have been listening to the Caspar Babypants CD all morning long…. and dancing to it…. and asking when they can go see him again…”
