Fox Island Cemetery Tours March 10th

Surrounded by evergreen trees on the east side of Island Boulevard, the Fox Island Cemetery is passed when many Fox Island residents drive home from work every day. Who are the people buried there? What are their stories?  These are the questions that led Daniel Arroyo to look into the history of the Fox Island Cemetery for his Senior Exhibition, a culminating project for Gig Harbor High School.

Daniel will host cemetery tours on March 10, 2013 to answer the questions that jumpstarted his interest in the Fox Island Cemetery.

The individuals he will highlight offer a diverse range of experiences including a Fox Island resident who at age 10 was a US Postal Carrier in the Indian Territory; a soldier who survived D-Day; and several others who have offered crucial contributions to Fox Island.

Daniel will be giving tours at 12:30 and 2:00 P. M., rain or shine (and knowing our local weather, rain gear is a must).  Arrive early, chat with friends and neighbors at the hot chocolate bar and enjoy the local history buried at the Fox Island Cemetery.
