Low Tide Beach Walk on Fox Island July 3rd

JULY 3rd at 10:30

We are very excited to have Dr. Ernie Karlstrom and his helpers lead another fabulous low-tide walk for us this summer! Bring your whole family and a sack lunch and join us for a low-tide adventure!

Your exploration will start on the Tacoma side of the Boat Launch, that’s on the shores of Honeymoon Bay, at 10:30 on July 3rd.

A little background: Dr. Ernie Karlstrom taught biology at the University of Puget Sound for over three decades. He and his wife, Marilyn, resided for 32 years on the Island, moving two years ago to Franke Tobey Jones, a retirement village in the far north end of Tacoma. The beach walk on the east (Tacoma) side of the Fox Island Bridge is set for 10:30am on July 3rd to take advantage of a great minus tide. We have a wonderful opportunity to see an array of beach critters and to talk about their roles in the Puget Sound ecosystem. Ernie is a naturalist who volunteers in teaching marine education with Harbor Wildwatch out of Gig Harbor and aboard the tallship Adventuress out of Port Townsend.

Parking can be tight, so many folks will be parking along Bella Bella.  This is an ALL-AGES event, but please make sure all children come with an adult.
