Annual Fox Island Tree Lighting, Santa visit and Christmas Concert! December 4th, Starting at 5:30
Celebrate the start of the holiday season with traditional tree lighting, a visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, and festive holiday music at the old Fox Island schoolhouse! The holiday festivities officially start at 5:30 PM when the lights are turned on by our official tree lighters, the Botnen Family, and lights begin to dazzle Fox Island. Islander Suzie Vendetti will lead us all in songs around the campfire. Then… the big guy arrives! Be sure to bring your camera, as Santa will be arriving by Fox Island Firetruck with his lovely wife, Mrs. Claus. He has promised us he will sit in his giant red sleigh (which is parked in the cozy schoolhouse classroom) where he will be waiting to hear all the goodies on your wish-list. Inside the Schoolhouse there will also be cocoa and coffee and lots of new things to take a look at! At 6:45 on the Old Schoolhouse stage, Fox Island’s own Wickline Family & Friends will perform. Bob Wickline is excited to have Grand Master flat pick champion Roger Ferguson joining the group this year. This concert will be full of Christmas classics and Yuletide favorites, all played to the banjo, fiddle, guitar and beautifully harmonized vocals. Get in the holiday spirit by enjoying classic holiday songs and some toe tappin’ fun. This highly anticipated performance is not to be missed! Feel like getting a head start on the concert? Click here: | SNOW MAKES WARM THOUGHTS COME & GO! WICKLINE |
Click here for more info on the Wicklines! There will be donations for FISH Food bank, information about FICRA & don’t forget to get a Fox Island T shirt for a unique Christmas gift! We are VERY excited for everyone to come inside and see all the wonderful things that have gone on in the schoolhouse in the last few weeks! Do remember to please dress warmly for indoor/outdoor activities. This is a free event, but donations will be gladly accepted to help defray the cost of the performance. |

2012 Dues are almost due! FICRA dues are only $25.00 per year/per family and are due January 1st for the 2012 year. We cannot express how much we appreciate your support. Your dues are what allow FICRA to put on so many events, keep the Nichols Center up and running, and remain a central gathering place for all Fox Islanders. Donations can also be made to Crime Watch and the FICRA Building Trust or the Nichols Center “Spruce Up.” If you would like to add a donation to your dues and would like it to go to a specific cause, please be sure to make a note of that in the “message” section. Thank You! |
